As the runner, this is the piece of equipment that you have to wear yourself. There are several options:
Waist belts may sit around the waist (with or without leg straps), or may have a strap around the waist but where the pull from the dog is lower around the butt. Belts that sit higher around the waist tend to have the benefit of extra padding, while those that sit lower mean that when the dog pulls, the pull is lower down on the body, which tends to be more stable.
Belts with the lower point of pull further divide into the “nappy” style which covers the majority of the backside, spreading the dog’s pull over a wider area of the body; and “strap styles” where the pull is strongly focused.
